Charlotte Russe - Product Exchange Review from Grayslake, Illinois

My neice had bought a romper in size small but gave it to me since she didnt fit it, so I decided to exchange it for an xsmall when I saw one at a charlotte russe store without a receipt since she threw it out. The price tag and everything was still there, but the check out girl told me since I don't have the receipt, I had to pay the difference in price from the cheapest price they had the romper for with the regular price. Her reason was because she didn't know how much I paid for it, so I couldn't do an exchange without paying the difference. I have never heard of that before. I can see if I was doing a full refund and was trying to make money off of it but I wasn't and it was just an exchange with the same exact romper just one size difference.

I work at a charlotte russe and our system will run it as a return so it won't give you your full credit back if you dont have your receipt, but she should've just changed the price to make it an even exchange if it was the exact same romper, I dont understand why she would try to make you pay for it that makes no sense.

If it's an exact same item then it should be an even exchange. Funny how this "policy" didn't exist when I worked there. Marie, your ignorance is by far much worse than any of these customer complaints.

That's typical policy for many retailers. It's the customer's responsibility to keep the receipt the store won't know how much you paid.

Neice lost it and I didnt think it be that big of a deal anyways. I know people who work in similar retail stores in the mall even managers and they never heard of a policy like that. So thats why I was confused even more.

Cant be ignorant if the manager gave me a completely different reason when I asked what their policy was without a receipt on an exact exchange. Then I told her my problem, she didnt know how to answer it so she just kept saying its our policy.

Weird since the site doesnt mention nothing about exchanges without receipt besides returns without packing slip will get merchandise credit for the current price of the item. Thats the closest reason Id say is close to my problem so why did I have to pay the difference when it was the cheapest at one point to the current price which was what my neice originally paid?

Bad communication from customer service

My daughter ordered a shirt and bracelet. Shirt was 13.99 bracelet $5.00. When the package arrived, which was pretty large, upon opening it, she noticed only the small bracelets were in it. She waited thinking the shirt was on back order. After waiting for sometime, I decided to call customer service about the missing shirt. Although Jackie, the rep I spoke to was polite, I feel Charlotte Russe should have better methods on handling this situation. Turns out, the shirt is no longer available and they sent out an email saying this but went ahead and sent out the bracelets not giving her the option of canceling the entire order. My daughter ended up paying $6.99 for a huge package with a $5.00 bracelet in it. They should maybe learn to package their products better, not only for pricing but maybe for the environment. They should also communicate better with their customers regarding the customers' preference as to what to do with the order if a large portion is unavailable. Will NEVER order from this company. There are hundreds of options to order online, much nicer quality and no shipping.

Charlotte Russe - Shoplifting Accusations Review

A tag for some headband was in a pocket of a pair of pants that my friend tried on and the worker accused her of shoplifting when she told them. I honestly thought that the way she treated my friend was pretty rude.

My friend was on the *** of a panic attack because the worker immediately got on the phone. It was not her fault she was honest at telling you the truth. I searched the entire store to clear her name and I luckily found what I assumed was the headband stashed in a dressing room.

We immediately left afterward. How about you try cleaning and organizing your store?

Worst customer service ever

I just want to start by saying I used to go to your store all the time in deptford,nj untill Saturday April 5th that will be the last Time I ever go in there again let me just start by saying how *** your customer service is my daughter was looking to get Hugh high heels we go in stand there by the shoes for over 15 mins my daughter really wanted and I was willing to spend whatever it was no one ever came over so I go to the register and the one girl was ringing someone up so two people wait in line and the other cashier walks over and says to the lady behind me can I help you I'm thinking umm hello then she calls the next lady up so I finally said umm excuse me anyway the 1st cashier then says can I help you I said yes I like the other shoe to this please she said well that's not my department she said go stand over there I said excuse me I already stood over there 15 mins n no one came over so she rolls her eyes n calls someone 15 more mins go by and no one in the mean time to two cashiers look at me n turn there back giggling so I wanna thank your *** customer service cause I went a couple stores away to your competitors and got them for the 1/4 of the price you were selling them for I'm very unhappy and disappointed and how unprofessional those girls were unreal

Charlotte Russe - Bad Customer Service Review from Malden, Massachusetts

I was so excited that assembly row location opened! im horrified of the customer service. the music & most of the lights were turned off 15-20 mins before the closing. i felt very rushed and uncomfortabls. i was not greeted when i entered either. one of the girls went to the front of the door and tried to block people from coming in 10 mins before closing. the doors are glass and i can visibley see her dancing and acting very unprofessional. the manager on duty allowed her associates to act foolish. im never coming to this location again. i didnt even buy anything i was so unconfortable!

At the store I work at the music goes off 10 minutes before we close and we remind our customers that we have 10 minutes. We can not physically tell anyone they cannot come in until close, we can only tell them that the store is open for 10 more minutes.

As for the dancing, I don't understand why this is considered a rude and foolish gesture.

The music is loud, the girls are young, and many of the women coming in are younger.

I've had customer's dance with me and laugh as I dance and sing the lyrics to them. Doing the sprinkler or white girl dancing is just the associates having fun in a high stress environment.

This is what happens when there is no adult supervision. If this is located at a mall or shopping center, give the office there a call.

Most do not allow early closings or late openings, as the previous person pointed out. I understand the employees want to go home, but they have to have the store OPEN until closing time. Once it is closing time, then yes, turn off the music, dim the lights, stand at the door and prevent any new customers, inform anyone in the store to bring their purchases to the register ASAP, etc..

But, blocking people 10 minutes before closing is not allowed. I am sure if you contact the home office for this company, they will agree.

Based on the responses from Marie I take it that she's probably a rude employee as well. I've worked retail many years including Charlotte Russe (worst company ever) and no you're not allowed to turn customers away unless the store is actually closed.

You can inform the customer that the store will be closing in however many minutes but you can't turn them away! Actually many malls will fine companies for closing early or opening late, if the mall closes at 9 then guess what, you close at 9. Yes it take up to an hour to clean a store but you start early and don't goof off. I've ran my own store for.many years and have never needed to close early to get typical closing procedures done in a timely manner.

When I worked for the company, I worked at an outlet and ALWAYS had customers shopping after losing but I always left on time with a clean store. Perhaps YOU need further training.

Its a recently opened store with poorly trained employees who are within their rights to stop people from entering before closing.

Working in retail, lots of people come in immediately before closing and stay doing nothing but looking. Customers dont understand that it takes an extra 30-50 minutes to close a store, longer on busy nights.

Nobody wants to work a job where your shift ends at 9 and you dont get home until 11. Letting people continue to shop means continuing to make money.

Letting more people in doesnt.

What on earth are you doing going so late anyway? Its just plain rude.

Product not in stock when website says it is

After finding the perfect combat boots on this website (which I love for there pretty and usually good- quality shoes) and waiting for them to go on sale, when finally tried to buy them, I saw they were out of my size. I knew sometimes people return then online so i checked constantly to see if a pair in my size would be returned. One day I saw that my size was available and in stock to my excitment, until I tried to buy them and they said they were out of stock when on the product information page it cleary said that they were in stock. I chose the live chat option only to relentlessly told that they didn't have access to inentory. The only other shoes i want right now on their website are marked-down, and therefore do not applyto the buy one pair get another for $8 >:(

Review about Sensor Removal

I purchased a shirt last week and the associate left the sensor on. I took the shirt back and she will not remove without a receipt. I later found the receipt, but you have inconvenienced me by not doing your job. She talked about the procedures for not being able to remove the sensor but what about your job descriptions.

Rude Handling of Exchange Without Recipt

I recently went to a Charlotte Russe store in Arlington Texas to exchange two dresses that I had purchased about a week prior. Unfortunately I had misplaced my receipt and could not find it anywhere.

But being that the tags were still attached and the merchandise was never worn I figured I could simply exchange it for something else in their store. What happened next is absolutely unbelievable. When I arrived to the store and explained the situation to the cashier she was so rude and disrespectful in telling me that without my receipt they could not accept my exchange. I have been a long time customer of Charlotte Russe and had never ever had this problem nor was I ever treated so rudely.

When I asked to speak to a manager in order to get a better explanation, the manager was equally as rude as the cashier. She was unfriendly and not helpful at all. She told me that if I wanted to complain she would gladly give me the corporate number to call and complain. I left the store completely appalled and called the customer service corporate number for Charlotte Russe.

Sadly I did not have any better luck with that. The lady that answered the phone in the customer service department was just as rude and disrespectful as the employees in the store. She could not explain the Charlotte Russe policy for returns and exchanges to me. She simply said it varies from store to store.

Now their store policy is printed on their receipts and posted in their stores and it reads as follows.... Refunds and exchanges within 30 days with original purchase receipt and tags attached. Price adjustments will be honored within 14 days of original purchase date.

Refunds without a receipt require a valid ID and will be refunded to a non-transferable merchandise credit card. With that said I am absolutely disgusted with how Charlotte Russe treats their customers!

I have experienced the same thing in a Texas store. It was an absolutely horrible experience.

What was really crazy about it was the people who were handling the situation were actually the same people who helped me just days before. They remembered me and even rememberd our conversations.

I spent over $500 that day and only wanted to exchange 2 items and they absolutely knew they sold them to me and did not budge on their policy. I will NEVER return and neither will anyone else in the family.

I sent my daughter to return clothes which were on-line ordered under my name. She presented her credit card, which is the same account as mine just her name and they would not let her return it back to the credit card because the card was not in the same name as the order.

Meanwhile her Driver's License has the same last name and same address. They did however give her a gift card. When I went back in and questioned this I was told that it is for my protection so if the items were stolen from my house with delivery, the person returning them just needs to show proof of who they are. So basically they are giving someone else my money.

They also told me that I can return the items to ANY credit card that has my name on it. The cashier asked me for my credit card I used to credit my account and I said why, you just told me I can use any credit card.

The cashier and manager just looked at me. You can't make this up!

I was returning some clothes today that I bought at Charlotte Russe, and I had the original receipt, tags were on, clothes were still new and the employee was treating me like a criminal. can not stand stores who don't have patience to deal with returns. won't be shopping there anymore.

I work at a Charlotte Russe and you can always do a non-receipted return/exchange. Without a receipt though you will not get back as much as you paid for it due to the fact that the company doesn't know what you paid without the receipt. Regardless though those employees were wrong in not letting you do an exchange.

How can you make a comment about people not being able to read when the return policy clearly states that an item CAN be returned without a receipt! These incompetent employees are the reason companies get sued. To help you understand priyapathak81 since YOU CANNOT READ. The policy states that a refund requires a receipt in other words she can't get cash back.

The policy states that for a price adjustment, you need a receipt and have 14 days because us ally price adjustments require giving cash back. The policy states that without a receipt a credit will be given which means the customer can exchange the *** item but they get a credit for whatever it rings up as.

If refunds without a receipt wasn't an option then it wouldn't be printed on the receipt. You're an ***, the customer in this situation is right.

Very rude manager I was shopping with my daughter and I seen how this lady was being very rude to costumes, maybe because they were young and had no adult but a costumer is a costumer. I have no clue how they could be a manager and have no respect towards a costumer! If it was an adult she would not have acted the way she did she looked pyscho. HANNAH, TANNAH, does not deserve to be manager. She should show respect.

Wrong shipping address by rep - not able to change

i placed an order with Charlotte Russe through the phone is because your website was unable to charge my card nor could i pay through paypal. i spend 45 minuted over the phone with a rep who wanted me to repeat everything, i spelled every name or address with using the phonetic alphabet, which she obviously did not even understand.

even my name is spelled totally wrong, it does not even come close. the shipping address was wrong, the confirmation email came hours after I placed the order, I called them and told them to change the address. Though they did but I received the tracking number with the wrong address that does not even exist! they are not able to do anything for me except refunding the order once it gets returned to them which still leaves me empty handed.

what a waist of time. never shopping at CR again.

staff was also very rude and not helpful. firs they're friendly, once you start telling them your complain, they change in being rude and unfriendly.

Sale Practices Review

Tip of the day: never EVER buy something for full price at Charlotte Russe. I guarantee you it will go on sale within the next week and you'll lose your money (if you lose your receipt, they only give you store credit for the lowest price in the past 30 days). This is true for most stores, but I am especially frustrated with Charlotte Russe because I just lost $20 to this company and the store manager wasn't sympathetic at all. When I talked to her, she came off as very blunt and annoyed, even though I was simply asking what the return policy was. I will NOT shop at Charlotte Russe again because it is not worth my time or money.

Worst online purchase EVER!

I tried to purchase an order online for $500. I put the order in around midnight. I was so excited about the purchase that I checked on the order status when I woke up the next morning. It was CANCELLED! I did not receive an email or a phone call. No heads up, but they still took my $500 out of my bank. I had to call their customer service in the Philippines only to be transferred 6 times before I could talk with the "supervisor". The supervisor told me because a manager could not confirm my billing address they cancelled my order. However my bank was CHARGED! not a pending charge either.. I called my bank and am STILL waiting on my money to return in my bank and it's been 17 days!! The supervisor told me the only thing she can do is resubmit my order but I have to pay the $500 again!!

I am very disappointed with the service i had today at the the Charlotte Russe in jersey gardens,store:91 in Elizabeth NJ. I went in today to return some shoes i had bought online and the cashier got nasty with me because her co-worker asked her for some help. She was dark skin and I believe she was a rascist because she was nasty to a hispanic lady who was in front of me too, which was her customer. The manager (dark skin)was also very rude when the customer is always right! The only one who wasnt rude was the cashier who was helping me at first. register:3. Cashier:195806. I will not buy from here again! A bunch of rude people in that store!

I agree with you, and I think the OP is racist herself with her review. I wonder where her mommy was when she was throwing a tantrum, or why the manager did not call the police because there was a neglected child in her store.
